Mt. Kilimanjaro Charity Climb

Success, but late by one pound, or one day.

I found losing weight to be one of the most difficult things that I have ever done. But, I also found that losing weight has been one of my biggest accomplishments that I have ever done too! So if your thinking of doing it... its worth it!

1 pound of human fat takes about 3500 calories to lose. More.

Water is required for your body to burn fat. More,  and More.

By just being alive, I burn about 2200 calories. (See Calorie Calculator on this page.)

To stay healthy, I should eat about the same (for me 2200) amount of good food. More.

I find the Treadmill to be the easiest exercise for me, and its one of the best! More.

 

 

 
       
       

"Weight Loss Pledge"

 

Here is my pledge:

"I promise to reduce my weight to an acceptable level, maximum 175 pounds. (79.5 kg or 12.5 st), by February 15th, 2004." 

 

I am loosing weight in order to assist my climbing of Africa's 19,330 foot Mt. Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) in March 2004 with my father, age 65 (currently in better condition than me). We will literally run out of air at such heights and therefore it is imperative that we are all in good shape and not carrying surplus mass (fat). 

 

 

From a top weight of 212 pounds (96 kg or 15.2 st) on 1st September 2003, I am hoping to lose 40 pounds (19 kg or 3 st) in time for my climb in support of Charity. Reaching the summit will see the fulfilment of a childhood dream. 

 

 

The public may observe my progress, or failure, updated on this web-site.
