The incredibly clear blue shallow waters of The Bahamas are a treat to see. Here, a boat is seen skimming quickly on the surface causing a gentle wake. However, unusually, the affects of the wake are also seen some distance behind the boat. The sun refracting through the ripples causes bright illuminations on the shallow ocean floor, still visible from approximately 15,000 feet. (10 April 2005). Map. [800x600] Photo:
