Just past midday local "Noon" from above the Arctic Circle (at 69 degrees North). Although dark below, from the altitude of 35,000 feet the sun is still visible and is seen refracting over the horizon. It is flattened further by the extremely cold temperatures of the Arctic air that allow us to see over the horizon. [800x600] Photo:
